When pursuing a career in radiology, you may have heard of the ARRT exam. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is responsible for certifying radiologic technologists in the United States. Before you can even apply for the exam, you should ensure that you meet certain education, ethics, and examination requirements.

The first criterion is your educational requirement. This requires you to complete an accredited educational program in radiologic technology or some other related field, such as radiation therapy for example. The program should include specific coursework in radiography, patient care, and medical ethics. In other words, you must have an associate degree from an accredited institution. While it doesn’t necessarily have to be an ARRT accredited program, you will still need to complete a certain number of college credit hours in those specific areas.
